Victorian NAIDOC Week

Celebrating Aboriginal culture and achievements in the Victorian Aboriginal Community.

About NAIDOC week

The celebrations currently associated with NAIDOC Week were established in 1957 and are an important annual community and cultural event.

In 1957 the National Aboriginal Day Observance Committee was formed with the support of many significant Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people.

NAIDOC State Government Reception

Hosted by the Victorian Government, the Reception is an annual event during NAIDOC Week. It provides an opportunity for Aboriginal Victorians to reflect on NAIDOC celebrations and strengthens the relationship between the Victorian Government and Aboriginal people.

Victorian NAIDOC Committee

Funding is provided to support the Victorian NAIDOC Committee to organise and deliver NAIDOC events for Aboriginal Victorians.
